Work Lunch: Deli Special Pasta from Goodness Gracious Gourmet

Hey Hey!! 4-day work week yay! To celebrate the short week, decided to go with some Deli Special Pasta from Goodness Gracious Gourmet (“GGG”).   Placed my order for lunch from Goodness Gracious Gourmet (“GGG”) last night because I did want to carry last and find out that orders foe the day had been maxed out. My order came right on time by 12pm today which I was totally happy about.   GGG is one of my lunchtime favs and I honestly don’t know why I haven’t shared reviews on their food here (checks archives and drafts) but I’ve shared […]

Well I know this is not a Lagos experience but this is from a reader who lives in Lagos and wanted to share her experience in Abuja…. Fair enough   Consider this an Extraordinary item lol   “I’m new to Abuja, a place I’ve always wanted to be just to get a feel of Lagos’s “rival”. But most especially to sample the social scene and of course the food experiences the Federal Capital Territory has to offer. The experiences today from readers are on Crust and Cream & Insignia Restaurant both in Lagos.   Catch up on previous experiences and see here for background on this column   Crust and Cream   “So last Sunday I went to Crust & Cream for dinner and decided to try their Pasta Chicken Carbonara instead of my usual (Spaghetti Bolognese).   The environment was very cosy and comfortable and the waiter was very attentive. My food was basically Fettuccini Pasta, Chicken, Bacon, Mushroom, Fresh Basil, Parmesan Cheese tossed with Creamy White Sauce. I have to say that it tasted really good. They […]

Delis Cafe – Sunday Lunch

Not sure why it has taken me a while to finally visit Delis Cafe but I guess, the best is always saved for last. After Y’s experience, she had mentioned that Deli’s would have offered better steak as she and her husband were regulars after church on Sundays.   This time I could not go with Y, but with a bud of mine – B to have lunch at Delis after Church :). Delis is simply Cafe.Eatery.Winery as read on the menu but its safe to say this place is really a café which is above the Delis grocery store. […]

BLD by Play, Lekki

BLD by Play Lekki (Closed Down) 15A Admiralty Way, Lekki Over the weekend, after a lot of personal errands to run, Y and I decided to try out BLD by Play in Lekki as we had never been there before and  I often get asked if I had tried it out. BLD by Play is hard to miss once you get into Admiralty Road in Lekki 1 due to its big structure which is very visible especially on the busiest road in Lekki.   BLD stands for Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner and apparently have a daily buffet for about N2,000/N2,500 which […]

Foodie in Lagos Tales: So Fresh and Green Grill House

Hey Hey… Some more experiences by our readers. Be sure to catch up on the Experience I and Experience II when you can.   So Fresh Wasn’t So Fresh After All People I’m so disappointed in So Fresh. The salad I ordered was bad. Looked dry, had a funny smell like it had been in a fridge that wasn’t cooling well since Friday and today is Monday. Had a few bites & now my tummy is rumbling. Not so fresh after all plus he avocados were all bad. I am so so disappointed. Had just two spoons and the rest ended up in the […]

Brownie Batter Protein Pancakes

My Top Picks on Instagram on Shrove Tuesday aka Pancake Day

Shrove Tuesday is usually the day before Ash Wednesday which is the beginning of Lent and somehow somehow got tagged as Pancake Day. I always wondered why this was called so until I read that the English tradition of eating pancakes on Shrove Tuesday came about as a way to use as much milk, fats, and eggs as possible before Ash Wednesday….   Unluckily for me, I was unable to have any pancakes but I drooled over quite a number on Instagram and shared on Twitter and Facebook the IG posts that I absolutely loved on Instagram. Someone threatened to […]
