Homemade Oat Milk is a perfect replacement for regular whole milk. It is famously known for the natural and low-fat nutrients it gives to the body. The good part, it is super easy to make. This recipe provides you tips on how to make creamy homemade Oatmilk.
INGREDIENTS/ MATERIALS NEEDED
1/2 cup wholegrain oats
2 cups of water
2 pitted dates (optional) -to sweeten
1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence (optional)
A bottle for the milk
Blender
Cheesecloth,
Fine mesh strainer
Cup, Spoons, bowl, etc.
Step 1: Start by washing your hands with clean water. The first foodie rule, hygiene is first. Don’t forget your napkin to have and use your napkin.
Step 2: Get a blending bottle. Put your wholegrain oats, add 2 cups of water, 2 pitted dates to serve as sweetener, ½ teaspoon of vanilla essence for flavor, and blend all of it. You can double up the measurement to get more Oatmilk.
Step 3: Grab a mesh strainer and strain the pulp from the milk. If you have a cheesecloth, use the cloth to ensure the oats are strained properly. If not, strain using the fine mesh strainer couple of times. (2-3 is fine).
Step 4: Avoid squeezing the pulp as that could make your oat milk slimy. Voila, your oat milk is ready. Be sure to keep it refrigerated. You can add this to your tea, coffee, cereal, or drink chilled.
Note:
Don’t use Jumbo Oats, it might make the milk lumpy.
