Another week, another hustle! I love Mondays because, for me, they represent a brand new opportunity to be better, do better and of course, eat better. Last week, we brought you foods that helps boost your immune system, this week, we’re bringing you healthy snacks that will keep you energised and pumped for the day and the rest of the week.
You don’t always have to eat whole meals when you’re peckish, health experts recommend having snacks and as such, here is a short list of healthy snacks to try this week!
Usually made from in ripe plantains which contains a high amount of potassium is good for your heart.
It contains fibre that helps lower cholesterol and is in turn great for the longevity of your heart. It is also inexpensive, and easy to make, not to mention delicious!
Cashew nuts, though not a personal favourite, are rich in Zinc, Magnesium, Iron and Phosphorus. They also contain antioxidants that are great for the skin and have agents that help prevent cancer.
Cucumbers are packed with Vitamins. As well as Magnesium’s new Potassium, all of which are vital for the functioning of the cardiovascular system.
They are versatile, they can be munched on in traffic, eaten with groundnuts and even sliced and added to meals.

I don’t think I have to tell you again, how beneficial fruits are to your health. We’ve been hearing that since we were kids.
Eat an Apple, an Orange or even a fruit salad today!
Yoghurt provides healthy bacteria for the digestive tract that helps improve the working conditions of your entire body.
Greek Yoghurt itself contains a healthy amount of Protein, Iodine, Calcium and Potassium.
Drizzle in some honey, slice in an apple, add a few berries and have a snack your body will thank you for.
It’s corn season! And guess what? Corn is just as good for you as Greek yoghurt is.
Rich in Fibre, Protein and Potassium, it’s also very filling.
Made from groundnut paste mixed with ingredients like pepper for taste, this is also another versatile and delicious snack.
Only try it if your teeth can handle it.
