Maple Restaurant, Lekki is a New York Style Resto-Bar and a sister restaurant to Cafeteria which has grown to be a breakfast/brunch go-to spot for most Lagosians. I dined here on a hot afternoon with the expectation the space would be calm, but my expectation was faulted. The space is a great place, well-lit, but with very limited parking options.

MEAL

It took a while to get the menu – almost 30/45 mins and while I waited, I observed that the staff were not attentive, and were all over the place. I ordered their hot wings as a starter, but it ended up being a full meal, I had to pack some to go. The Hot Creamy Wings were okay, super huge in size, but could use some more touch- taste-wise. My wait time for my order was about an hour.

On the other hand, JD got their Wings on Pancakes. The pancakes tasted nice, but the chicken was like the hot wings- huge but could be better in taste.

I tried their Beef Lasagna, it was heavenly. I was sold at the cheese pull.

DRINKS

I ordered the Mango Iced Tea, it had too much ice and tasted nothing like mango. So, I tried the vanilla and waffle milkshake, it was way better and satisfying.

My overall experience at Maple is a 7/10. I got a lot of negative feedback from friends who have dined here, they all agree the food and ambience are okay, but the staff and service need to be better.
