Oeuvre Bistro is one of the new spots on the mainland, located in the new Ogudu mall on the 3rd floor. Oèuvre is a french word that means “work of art” and that is exactly what Oèuvre Bistro is. It is a warm space with interesting people and good food.
Chef Stone of Red Dish Chronicles was the consultant for the set up of Oeuvre Bistro and set up the menu and recipe development as well as kitchen build including the provision of chefs and training. Chef Stone already has traits of excellence, which isn’t surprising. Walking into Oeuvre Bistrofelt like walking into the modern version of those American diners you see in Hollywood movies, with the booths and round tables and waitresses that attend to your every need.
Oeuvre is super cute and super cosy. With its black, beige and gold decor accompanied by the rustic wallpaper and mood lighting, it’s a space that whispers “Welcome” as soon as you step in. The warm color pallet adapted is beautiful. It immediately offers you a rustic, cozy, and upscale aura. I particularly love the walls, the beautiful lights, and the small details on the napkins. This space is fit for small gatherings, family hangouts, dates, or just to have a lovely time out alone.

The wait staff at Oeuvre Bistro were very welcoming as well, armed with the menu and plenty of smiles. Our waitress, Kachi led us to table 9 and there were hand sanitisers on every table, which is thoughtful and safety-conscious.
Kachi gave us the menu and walked us through it, which according to her, is still under construction which is understandable as the place is quite new, and still trying to find its footing. The drinks menu was separate: a scan-barcode-to-view, which had quite a number of choices. You can view the menu here.
The food prices weren’t those of a bistro though, as they were a little pricey. Ideally, Bistros are meant to be inexpensive but this is Lagos.
We started with drinks: Strawberry Margarita which cost ₦3,500, and a Momosa which was ₦1,500, A Momosa is a Mimosa minus the bubbly. The drinks didn’t take long to arrive. We placed our order at about 1:18 pm and we were served by 1:31 pm.
I liked the Margarita, there wasn’t an overpowering amount of alcohol in it. I also had a sip of the Momosa, it tasted like orange juice with soda, which was exactly what it was. It was okay.
For starters, we had the deep-fried calamari, which cost ₦3,400. I liked this a lot, maybe because I’m a huge fan of calamari and seafood in general. The Calamari was warm, crunchy on the outside, and soft and chewy on the inside. The crunchy outer coat was mildly seasoned and made for a perfect match with the side dip which was delicious and spicy.
For the main, I had the Steak with a side of fries – ₦10,000, while T had the Salmon- ₦13,000, with a side of creamy mash which is essentially pureed potatoes in cream and a white wine sauce.
Steak:
The Steak was well done, which I like, except for the part where it was kind of tough to cut and I had to drill in for a bit before getting a slice. In hindsight, well-done steak is not the best when it comes to tenderness although there are some tricks to get around this. I really liked the sauce as it complimented the Steak perfectly. The steamed veggies had the right amount of crunch and piquancy to them. It was a lot of food, and I couldn’t finish the Steak and ate just a few pieces of fries. We wanted to try Dessert though, but none was available, which sort of made me relieved because I was already full – lol
Portion wise, Oeuvre Bistro is not bad at all
Salmon:
Unfortunately, Dessert was not available.
However, we spent the rest of our stay at Oeuvre Bistro taking beautiful pictures and enjoying some Karaoke. How did we end up doing Karaoke? Well, while we were eating, Chef Stone was testing out the TV and mics for Karaoke night, (which happens every Friday btw) and he handed me a microphone to sing along with a waitress. It was so much fun! We really enjoyed my time at Oeuvre Bistro. Everyone was very nice, welcoming, and attentive. Will definitely be visiting again, especially for Karaoke night.
Visiting Oeuvre Bistro was a lovely way to end the week – good food, great ambiance, and friendly staff.
What more can I say, Ce restaurant est une oéuvre d’art exquise. It definitely left us Joie de vivre.

I like your attention to details. it indicates you know what you’re doing unlike most Nigerian food critics. I’m impressed.
Aww thank you so much!
