Lagos is quite a chaotic city, we would agree and whether or not you like it, the stress sometimes gets to you. That isn’t enough? Every street and corner you turn has over five food stands and restaurants. So, your calorie intake and stress level doubles up. What then can you do to stay well Wellness goes beyond the gym and if you know Lagos enough, you would have seen a person drive 10 minutes to the gym, and grab a burger after working out, what then is all of the workout for and how in the world can we keep well with this type of drama? To start with, what is wellness?
Wellness is defined as the act of healthy practices on a daily that leads to a better mental and physical state of function. Wellness is cutting out what needs to go and managing what should stay. You must have gotten some tips from my Instagram story and my newsletter, well, watch out for more.
A very functional way to keep well is by reducing your screen time and your intensity of activities on your phone. You need to learn to lock yourself out of the digital world sometimes. It’s just so much going on and your eyes could use some rest just like your brain could use some cooling off, that’s one.
Secondly, take more walks, and unless your phone keeps track of your steps, I suggest you take walks without your phone.
Thirdly, drink more water and chew on fruits like dates, berries, etc. It’s a great step to enable fluid circulation.
Lastly, for now, you might need to let go of that huge portion of food, (exclaims) reduce your meal portion, please.
And a bonus point? Appropriate your sitting and sleeping posture. These steps are starters, so stay tuned for more tips.
Will you (truthfully) start your wellness journey? Let me know in the comments.
