Hi there,
Apologies for the irregular updates. This post is long overdue! I know the blog is called Foodie in Lagos and this review is for a restaurant in Accra. FIL is Global by the way *insert wink*
I and a couple of friends were spending a few days in Accra and decided to have Dinner. Being such a sushi freak, I did my research and suggested Monsoon. This was not an easy find but it worked! It was my second time in Ghana and I had made it a point of duty to go on a foodie exploration.
From the exterior of Monsoon, it looked odd as it was above one the fast food chains called the Osu Food Court in Ghana in the city centre. By the time we got inside, the interior décor was amazing. My fav was the cigar room which had mostly black and white pictures of legendary artistes. Oh so pretty! The tables were pretty neat and the staff were quite friendly with smiles all the time. They had quite a number of expatriates dining there and I was sure I was in the right place 🙂
For starters, we had some shrimp with spices (can’t remember what it was called) and it was yummy! and then a main course of some shredded chicken in soy with some noodles.
At this point, we were really full.. But hey Cocktails!
We really had a blast and service was quick and friendly and our dining experience cost us under 100 cedes.. not bad I must say!
Sorry for the poor quality pictures as they were taken with the iPhone.
Verdict: I’d give this an FIL 4.3 out of 5
Monsoon is at 41 Oxford Street, Osu, Accra (above the Osu food court) and its so easy to find
Again, I’d love to read your comments.
Ramadan Kareem!

Hey! That sushi looks divine..Definitely looking for this place when next I’m in Ghana 🙂
I was there!
The teriyaki made me stay off soy sauce for weeks after that though.
Great sushi place!
