Still in the spirit of locating the best Abula Spot in Lagos, a lot of people kept mentioning and recommending Olasheu Food Canteen in Agege, so I thought to try it out. One thing I know is my followers never flop when it comes to recommending spots in Lagos, so I boldly took my chances by visiting Olasheu Canteen. I knew I was in for a good time when I arrived few minutes before their opening hour and saw people waiting already.
MEAL
Now to the good part, the food. Usually, they serve white and black yam flour (amala), but on this day, they prepared the white yam flour first. I thought to try it because all Amala is Amala. (Foodie rules).
Yes, they sell just Amala, but they have a wide range of soup options for you to choose from. On this day, they had the OG Gbegiri and Ewedu, Vegetable, Egusi and Okro soups. The place was filled with customers, but even with the crowd, they managed well. I’m telling you that place was filled. The Amala was very light and soft, but the star of the show was definitely the soup. It was finger licking good! The protein was also really good, it was so tender and very tasty.
OVERALL EXPERIENCE
Olasheu does food bowls, weekend soups and bulk orders, and from what I have tasted, I feel it is worth trying out. I did enjoy the customer service and the meal I had.
