Review: Liquid Hub, Ikoyi

I stopped by a Liquid Hub some days ago. After having their Guinea Fowl the previous night, I thought to try their Amala. Uche (my spot pointer) said most of their things are nice so I decided to give it a shot. I arrived at 4pm and the place was cool and empty. Their space was nice and cozy on this day. I started by ordering a jug of fresh Orange Juice which I really enjoyed. I liked that a separate glass was brought for ice because I ended up having two full glasses of fresh orange juice.
MEAL
For starters, I had the Crispy Calamari. The dip was a little spicy which I liked and the portion was quite generous. The batter wasn’t tough and the calamari was tasty, fresh and not chewy. For the main, I had Amala. It was great and the texture was smooth. The gbegiri tasted great as well. However, the stew was not as great and the palm oil wasn’t fried to perfection. It felt a little sour or sharp, not sure how to explain this, but it needs more work. The assorted meat consisted of beef, roundabout, shaki and ponmo – no cow leg in sight. They were soft and really delicious although the beef was a bit tough; it was good.
OVERALL EXPERIENCE
Anyways, I did like that it was cool and empty when I visited, I might revisit to try more things on their menu since their guinea fowl was a pass.
