The word on the street is that Molabat Kitchen has the best jollof rice in town and I had to confirm, so I went to their Agungi branch to try it myself. It was very easy to locate. They have a simple and neat dine in area. There was quite a heavy number of people when I got there- Maybe that’s a proof that words on the street is true.
MEAL
I got their famous Jollof rice, Beef and Boiled Egg. The jollof rice had a nice aroma and a strong firewood jollof taste and the texture wasn’t hard. However, it had a bit of a sour-slap taste which I’m guessing it’s because the tomato paste was not fried enough. Aside that, I enjoyed the rice. The beef was really small but very tasty. And the egg well, tasted like egg; it wasn’t super soaked in stew. That might have hit differently.
OVERALL EXPERIENCE
The rice was delicious but had a sour-slap taste. The firewood jollof aroma made it enticing. The staff were discussing loudly amongst themselves which I found a bit weird but none of them were rude so that’s a plus. I was attended to immediately, I think I might just stop by some other time.
