Woks Asian Cuisine is a restaurant by the Blowfish Group offering Asian food – Indian & Chinese. Blowfish also owns La Veranda and Izanagi. Not really sure what the proper name is. Sometimes I see Woks Asian Cuisine or Woks Asian Restaurant and on Instagram it’s Woks by the Blowfish group (I’m sure this is because there is also Woks and Koi which is a Chinese restaurant in Lekki 1) 🤷♀️

Speaking of resilience, the Blowfish group totally revamped their space and fighting to be the top spot for folks to chill at. The property houses a hotel, La Veranda and of course, Woks which offers Asian food.

The menu was quite long and is a mix of Chinese, Thai food and Indian food which are meals Lagosians really like.
We ordered a frozen Strawberry Limeade and the House Ginger Beer. The benefits of Ginger in these Covid times can’t be overemphasised so nothing spoil if we have it as a cocktail right?
These were so good – no complaints at all. I like my cocktail sweet!

For starters, had some Vegetable Tom Yum soup and some Garlic Naan and Butter Naan. I had never tried this soup before but it was really good. No regrets. Naan bread is always a must and it was not bad at all. Not the best I have had but was just alright.
For main meals, had a mixture of veggies, some protein for a good balance with some Thai seafood fried rice. The Kung Pao chicken was my fave – sweet flavouring with some spicy. The portion was really good too. The rice was generous with prawns and other seafood – every spoon had at least 2 prawns
The veggies stir fry was crunchy and not overcooked which was good.
Really enjoyed the Kung Pao Chicken – was really good
The decision to get dessert was very last minute as we were quite full but dessert is always a must. I went plainly with the Walnut lover which was just walnut-topped ice cream. The ice cream tasted very cheap – didn’t enjoy this. O had an Indian Dessert – the Gulab Jamun which looked like soaked puff-puff in some sort of sugar syrup. She thought it was ok and being a warm dessert, it was not so bad.
