This isn’t one of those reviews with a happy ending. We recently visited Go Fresh Exotic in Surulere, Lagos for a healthy meal and our experience there was subpar. It was such a surprise, as we had already seen their menu online and had high expectations.
ORDER
When we perused Go Fresh Exotic’s menu, we were taken aback. It seemed like our hopes for a nutritious meal were about to be tested. The menu featured burgers, shawarma, and grilled chicken prominently, leaving us without the healthy drinks we desired, like smoothies and Greek yogurt.
Nonetheless, we decided to give it a shot and chose the yogurt parfait. The yogurt parfait was a revelation. It was incredibly creamy and delicious, with layers of fresh fruits. The flavors and textures were perfect. If we had to rate it, it would definitely be a perfect 10/10. The best part? There was no wait; our parfait was ready to enjoy right away.
One noteworthy observation was the contrast between their online and in-person offerings. Their online promotions focused on healthy meals, but the physical menu leaned towards less healthy options. This discrepancy left us somewhat perplexed.
OVERALL EXPERIENCE
While the meal was a highlight, the overall experience at Go Fresh Exotic had its challenges. Inside the restaurant, the lack of air conditioning made for an uncomfortable dining environment, especially with the grilling happening nearby. On the service front, Go Fresh Exotic had only one person taking orders. However, we must give credit to the waiter/cashier we encountered, who remained polite and patient.
