Work Lunch: The Healthy Salad Company
As the name connotes, The Healthy Salad Company (“THSC”) is a company that focuses on salads which are healthy and also yummy and salads do not always have to be just leaves or veggies or fruits. Like most of my foodie findings, I stumbled across this page on Instagram and the menu looked quite interesting and different from the regular salad guys on the gram.
The menu is a weekly menu with regulars and specials. So far, I have been trying to control what I eat and thought to try this out.
Ordered Meals: Placed my order the day before (as pre-ordering is advised) for two of the salads just because I honestly wanted to be a bit full and also just because it was a special for that week. The first was the Zesty Quinoa, Blackbean and Rocket Salad with Grilled Chicken (with Lemon Chicken, Sweet Peppers, Cucumber and Onions) and the second was the Wholewheat Penne Pasta Salad with Grilled Prawns (Raw Green Pesto and Roasted Tomatoes) – Doesn’t that sound tasty to you?

Zesty Quinoa Salad
Cost: Zesty Quinoa: ₦3,000, Wholewheat Penne Pasta: ₦4,500
Delivery Time: Since I had ordered the day before, it was delivered by 10am which is a good time considering how Lagos rush and road madness can be. Personally, pre-orders help these vendors a lot to be organised and make deliveries early enough.

Thoughts: See, I am not a salad expert and I just love good food no matter the shape or size (lol, you get it at this point). I have never had Quinoa until this and my goodness, I loved it. The zest really was a plus for me as it was not bland. The reason I had ordered this was also because of the Chicken – I love my protein and not in bits that I would be struggling to count pieces.
The Pasta salad was really really good – salads do not have to be boring. I need to get the recipe for this and try it out myself. The pesto was the icing on the cake for this and the well spiced prawns. My bowl had 9 prawns in case you were wondering
I do not know if it is a healthy thing or a salad thing but the portion was not the best as I wanted more by the time I was done. Maybe its because it was so yum but I struggle with portion control which is ideal for a healthy lifestyle. Presentation wise, The Healthy Salad Company did a good job but portion-wise, it could be better.
