Outside Restaurant Abuja – Abuja we outside babyyy 🌚 or not? LOL! So after reading all those tweets about the restaurant that sells ₦20k beans, we know we had to go see for ourselves – yes, we get coconut head -😩. Outside Restaurant and Lounge Abuja has a nice space, the design is not bad however the seating arrangement may cause clusters on days where they have a lot of customers so I’m not sure how practical that is.
The restaurant has big windows so it’s well lit and perfect for pictures. There’s also a bar situated in the restaurant as you can see from the pictures.
I struggled to get these pictures because the waiters kept going off about how it’s against their “policy” to take pictures of the space. I found that really irritating especially because I got in there and their chefs weren’t even around yet which made the wait time for the food incredibly long.
Messed up policy priorities I’d say!
On to the food! Hmm we had to respect our budget which guided what we could order at Outside Restaurant Abuja. For my main and only dish really, I had the Alfredo Prawns Pasta which cost ₦19,000. I mean when I saw the price, I definitely felt it was pricey but I wanted to give it a chance to see if the portion would be generous and the food quality great at least but that was not the case. Firstly, the wait time was LONG, the waitress that attended to me was polite and kept apologizing but I would have preferred to just have my food on time instead. The food came and a was a pretty small bowl of pasta as – see the picture for context–

The Pasta itself was pretty good. It was a 7/10 for me. I asked for it to be spicy and they made it so. Prawns were just 5 pieces in the meal and considering the fact that I paid that amount (₦19k) it SHOULD HAVE been much better. The only other thing in the meal were carrots and green peppers.🤷🏽♀️
The food was decent but definitely OVERPRICED. WYD????
TL:DR – Overall experience here was a 6/10 for me. I don’t think I should be paying that much for food and be given so much grief about taking pictures. The Restaurant space is aesthetically pleasing but construction work was going on during my dining time and it was a bit disturbing so I’ll give the ambience a 6/10.
