Nok by Alara, (V.I, Lagos)
12A Akin Olugbade St, Victoria Island, Lagos | Phone | Instagram
Nok by Alara is an African restaurant in Victoria Island that serves a variety of traditional Nigerian dishes; I visited to try their infamous Abula. The atmosphere was not bad but the air condition wasn’t working, so it was quite hot. But they improvised with fans and some stopped working.
AMALA
I ordered the infamous Abula. Most people in the restaurant were also eating amala, so I guess it is a famous signature food. I had it with assorted meat, cow leg, and extra gbegiri. I had to ask for more gbegiri because the one I got served wasn’t enough. The stew was the star of the show; it tasted so nice and went well with the amala. The only flaw was the meat; it wasn’t so soft. I enjoyed the Abula.
DRINK
I had the mango chili; it was spicy and nice, and it tasted like mango. I liked this mocktail. It is a 7/10 for me.
OVERALL EXPERIENCE
Overall for experience is a 7/10. I loved the Abula, but I would prefer a better atmosphere in terms of temperature the next time I visit.
FOODIE IN LAGOS RATING: 7/10
