Masterchef Nigeria Episode 1 Kick-Off

MasterChef Nigeria has officially premiered, and I had to sit down and watch the very first episode especially with a massive ₦73 million prize on the line.

In this video, I’m sharing my honest review of Episode 1, from my first impressions of the contestants to the overall production quality and judging panel. For a debut season, it’s definitely an exciting start, and there’s a lot to unpack.

As someone who spends a lot of time exploring food and dining across Lagos and beyond, I was particularly interested in how Nigerian food, storytelling, and creativity would come through on a show like this and Episode 1 gave us a glimpse of that potential. The Judges are Chef Eros of Ile Eros and Chef Stone of Red Dish Chronicles Culinary School & The Burgundy
