TT Lagos Restaurant, formerly Thai Thai Lagos, has been a quiet staple on the Lagos food scene for years—the kind of place that doesn’t need to shout because the food does the talking. So when they rebranded and moved into a new space on Olosa Street, I knew I had to visit to see what had changed, and more importantly, what hadn’t.
I went in with expectations. That’s always the risk when you’re returning to a place you already love. But I walked out with a full stomach and plenty of thoughts, and I’m going to share all of them with you.
First Impressions: A New Space, A Familiar Feeling
The moment you step into TT Lagos restaurant, you feel it, that quiet, intentional calm that the old Thai Thai Lagos always had, but somehow elevated. Additionally, the new Olosa Street location is set within a lush, green compound with terracotta courtyard flooring, flowering trees, and a circular water feature at the centre. Before you even get to the food, the space is already doing something for you.
Inside, the dining room is clean and thoughtfully put together. You will find warm leather seating, cream stone-effect tables, pendant lighting, and large plants positioned throughout. There’s a sheer linen panel with a circular cut-out that frames the garden outside, the kind of design detail that tells you the people running this place care about the full experience, not just the food. Furthermore, the dinnerware is genuinely beautiful, every piece feels considered.
Even the menu card has personality — a QR code printed on green textured paper with the note ‘printed menus are coming, we promise. Small details with big characters.
It’s the kind of place you can comfortably come for a long lunch, catch up with friends over cocktails, or have a quiet dinner without the Lagos noise. Moreover, if you create content, TT Lagos restaurant photographs beautifully.
Zobo Highball Mocktail
Served in a beautiful handcrafted ceramic mug, dark, rustic, and warm to hold. The drink is a deep ruby-red hibiscus base with ice and a dried hibiscus petal garnish on a black metal straw. It’s refreshing without being overly sweet, and the zobo flavour is clean and well-balanced. Additionally, it’s a really lovely non-alcoholic option that feels just as intentional as everything else on the menu at TT Lagos restaurant.
Nham Jim Shrimp Dumplings
Served in a bamboo steamer lined with leafy greens and finished with crispy fried garlic and sliced spring onion. The dumplings are properly made, thin-skinned, well-sealed, and filled with tender shrimp. Furthermore, the nham jim dipping sauce brings the heat without overwhelming the delicate prawn filling. These are not trying to be revolutionary. They are simply very good dumplings, which is exactly what you want at TT Lagos restaurant.

Glazed ribs with a deep, caramelised finish arrive in a beautiful mosaic-pattern ceramic bowl, scattered with toasted sesame seeds and sliced spring onion. The meat pulls cleanly from the bone. Moreover, the sauce is sticky and rich, with that sweet-savoury balance that makes ribs this good feel like a whole event. An indulgent order, but one you will not regret.
A generous, aromatic broth with tender chicken pieces, green peppers, fresh basil, and chilli floating through a rich coconut-based sauce. The flavour profile is genuinely impressive: deeply seasoned, warming, and complex without being aggressive. One note worth flagging: the curry does not come with rice automatically.
Order the steamed jasmine rice separately and factor it into your budget.
TT Lagos restaurant, formerly Thai Thai Lagos, has always occupied a very specific space in the Lagos dining scene: authentic Thai food, cooked with care, by people who actually know the cuisine. That doesn’t change with a new name or a new address.
What the rebrand adds is a sense of evolution. The new space signals that they are growing while holding on to what made them great in the first place. The food is still the focus. Furthermore, the ingredients are still fresh and the chef still knows what they’re doing. In a city where restaurants come and go, TT Lagos restaurant has stayed. That means something.
TT Lagos restaurant is a Lagos original that has earned its place at the table, literally and figuratively. The space is one of the most beautiful dining environments on Victoria Island right now, and the food holds up every bit of that promise. The dumplings and the red curry are must-orders. Additionally, the BBQ ribs are worth the splurge, and the Zobo Highball Mocktail is the kind of drink that makes you understand why presentation matters.
If you have never been to TT Lagos restaurant, this is your sign. If you used to go to the old Thai Thai Lagos and haven’t visited the new space yet, it is time to go back.
