Lagos is full of surprises, and sometimes the best ones are tucked in plain sight. That was exactly the case with Mystique Restaurant, a spot in Lekki Phase 1, I had driven past several times without giving it a second thought. But one spontaneous visit later, and now I’m wondering, why is no one talking about this place yet?
Warm, relaxed, and effortlessly stylish. Mystique pairs earthy interiors with cozy lighting and a touch of greenery, creating the perfect chill spot for solo hangs, catch-ups, or date night. The outdoor area adds a breezy, garden feel, calm, cool, and just a little bit mystic.
These prawns were massive, perfectly cooked and well coated. It also came with a spicy sauce. If you love seafood starters with a kick, this one’s for you.
Tasty and well-seasoned with clean, balanced flavors, not stuffed with unnecessary veggies, just
well-seasoned chicken and soft wraps that actually held together, but the portion was quite small for the price.
Easily the star of the table. The rice had that deep, smoky flavour, firm grains, just the right heat, and it was honestly unforgettable. Paired with spicy, peppered beef and plantains, it’s a full-on flavour bomb.
This was a surprise hit. Yes, noodles inside pepper soup. It sounds like a mad combo, but trust me, it works. The broth was spicy, hot and flavorful, the noodles soaked up all that goodness without getting soggy.
A refreshing burst of fruity flavors with kiwi, strawberry, and tangerine, perfect for a daytime sip.
If you like dark rum cocktails, this one’s bold, boozy, and balanced. Definitely one for those who like their drinks strong.
The food shows real intention. While some portions (like the chicken wraps) felt a little underwhelming for the price, the Smoky Jollof Rice and Peppered Beef more than made up for it. The Dynamite Prawns delivered on heat and size, while the unexpected Noodle Pepper Soup turned out to be a surprisingly comforting bowl that worked.
