Atmosphere Rooftop is the latest addition to rooftop spots in Lekki, Lagos. Atmosphere Rooftop is located in Lennox Mall in Lekki Phase 1. I mean the name is so obvious with the inclusion of ‘Rooftop’ perhaps for folks to easily recognise it’s an actual  Rooftop.

It appears the restaurant scene in Lagos is not here for jokes and triple efforts are being put into aesthetics and all the kind of details that would make it an ‘Instagrammable’ location in Lagos for social media users and all. However, I do wish that same energy Restaurant owners in Lagos put into all this is applied to the main essence of the business – Food, Service etc

Anyways, let us get into our thoughts on Atmosphere Rooftop Restaurant Lekki.

The Surrounding

First things first, we knew that this place would be on the topmost floor of the building but there was no specification as to which door was the main entrance. So, guys, Atmosphere Rooftop Lekki has two entrances – a main and I guess the back but you won’t get the whole paparazzi from the back entrance. The security personnel had to direct us to the other door which was quite a walk especially with the twists and turns of the architectural structure of Lennox Mall.

As you come in from the main entrance, it has this garden maze feel which I actually liked and I honestly believe it is more ideal for an evening chill as opposed to when the blazing sun is out. So imagine some Alice in Wonderland vibes – yeah that was it! It was picture perfect and every Instragrammer’s dream pretty much. Green everywhere, the walls, the lights – a Vibe!

When you finally get out of a not so confusing maze-like entrance, what you would now see is the main outdoor seating area and to the left an enclosed indoor area with a see-through glass and mirrors to create the illusion of space – it is very spacious and has two private seating areas – perfect for group Shisha.

The Bar Area

See Instagram to see what I mean. However, I loved the tiles and mix of colours at the Bar area of Atmosphere Rooftop Lekki. The high chairs and the pop of yellow gave it the life it deserved. It is also quite a stretch with the Shisha dongs on display adjacent to the bar.

Food & Drinks (Why you are really here)

I’m not quite certain where to place the cuisine specialty for Atmosphere Rooftop in Lekki because it seems the menu attempts to capture the lifestyle of the area in which it is situated which is to chill! Lekki People love to chill – Lol.

So basically the menu has Nigerian type food, then continental simple dishes and then loads of drinks, shots and the likes. So TBH, the menu at Atmosphere Rooftop is neither here or there but mainly safe and safe is cool too.

What Was Ordered

Ordered the Surf n Turf which was described as 250g prime fillet, house famous jumbo prawns and calamary (yes, as per one so we don’t get it twisted) steak, served with stir-fried vegetable noodles and brandy cocktail sauce.

There were quite a few flaws wrong with this meal. First, it was spaghetti not noodles and that was the only good thing about it because it was done properly, the Calamary was off or almost spoilt I had to spit it out, the Beef was nothing to write home about and was so tough and clearly just showed laziness on the part of sourcing for good beef. The prawns were very salty, I didn’t even care that the size was not the best but the saltiness was quite sickening. I was very disappointed with this meal and it took so long to get ready (45 mins). Essentially my meal at Atmosphere Rooftop was a case of Looking Good but not Tasting Good.

Drinks: Mide ordered a Strawberry Daiquiri which came out not looking like what it was supposed to be and clearly was missing an essential ingredient to give it the colour and taste it deserved. I went with what they call the ‘ The Atmosphere’ (Atmosphere at Atmosphere – Oshay!)

The Atmosphere is a Smirnoff Blue and Brandy based cocktail with Coconut etc. My drink was missing the diced pineapples which was like the only major flaw I noticed until the drink was totally messed up for me – LOL It was really a funny thing. So some guy came around to ask if everything was ok which it wasn’t especially as the Daiquiri was not what it should be and I said oh my diced pineapples aren’t here so instead of fixing just that they just scattered the whole thing and we ended up with two new Atmosphere cocktails.

I was later privy to hear that Atmosphere Rooftop Lekki is not fully opened yet and would do so in July but this may just be an excuse to either cover up the flaws or a period to gather feedback on what is good and improve on the bad. I just hope they don’t stay in ‘test mode’ in perpetuity coz whether proper launched or not if things aren’t put in order, it’s a recipe for disaster

The experience at Atmosphere Rooftop Lekki could have been way better and for now, our opinion is they are still learning work.

	Ambience	Alice in Wonderland vibes, the whole setting screams ‘chilled’. Perfect for an evening out for drinks before hitting the clubs. Outdoor seating area. Ideal for after work drinks as well
