Flowershop Cafe
274 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos
Flowershop Cafe opened in Lagos sometime in August because I remember going on holiday for two weeks and getting back seeing that it was open as the location is a daily route. It definitely looks like it is the latest and buzzing spots for good Breakfast and Brunch in Lagos.
The space at Flowershop café is so beautiful that for a second I did not think I was in Lagos. Naturally lit, smells divine with fragrance from flowers at the flower shop in a small section on its own, real flowers on the tables and even the tables at the FlowerShop Café are green and see through with weed-like green grass stuffed in between – Perfection was all I saw.
Stopped by the Flower Shop Café for a quick meeting and thought to have breakfast as well – error. It was so busy at 10.30am on work week and honestly, I was confused.
Also note that parking at Flowershop Café is valet parking only as it is quite a tight space and is right on a busy road and can easily cause traffic is parking is not sane
The options and the menu are quite straightforward and breakfast is served till 1pm and lunch and dinner were just introduced to start from 12pm. See menu here
I ordered the Flower Shop Sunny Side up because I did not want plenty serenren and really just wanted to eat and go and thought this would be the fastest thing.
What is in the Flower Shop Sunny Side up? Two (2) sunny side up eggs in a brioche pocket topped with brown butter served with a side of merguez sausage, potatoes hash, grilled tomato, grilled Portobello mushroom and a crispy turkey bacon
Also, the description on the Flower Shop Café menu looked quite appealing. For drinks, had the Caramel Frappuccino which was really lovely.
Check out this quick video of my experience at the Flowershop Cafe.
I am not a runny yolk/egg somebody and I prefer to have my eggs well done/hard and I can still manage medium done but closer to the yolk being a bit hard.
30 minutes after making my order, my meal was yet to be served and I had to ask who looked like the floor manager if my meal would be out anytime soon and maybe 15 minutes after that, I got my meal.
Imagine after waiting all that time and instructions for how I wanted my eggs were not followed through? Was quite a let-down and I practically wasted one egg and had them take the second away to be replaced with eggs the way I like them. This came like 15 minutes after and it was still runny and the crust was burnt
The Potato Hash was really nice but the menu confused me as it stated the meal having a side of sausages but did not come with one but is in the hash. The Mushroom – I wish it was bigger as opposed to the portion that was served. Was so tiny especially for the price of the meal and not having the eggs the way I wanted it put me off
What I liked however was the Frappuccino. It’s not Starbucks quality but it was quite sweet (not complaining) but main food did not come out on time and so my Frap was gone.
I definitely would come back as I feel I have to experience this place under saner circumstances when and if the buzz here dies down a bit. I did not leave the Flowershop Cafe feeling impressed about my meal but about the space, sure!
Score: 5/10

Food Quality | The only issue I had were my eggs but that is not a big problem – was a busy kitchen and must have been mixed up somehow.
Location | Its on a busy road and parking can be a nightmare. Valet services only
Price | Flowershop Sunny Side Up ₦5,800 · Frappuccino ₦2,500 · View Full Menu here
Service Delivery | The wait time took too long and the supervisor gave a complimentary lemon cake because I complained about the eggs. Lovely service |
