If you’re looking for a cozy, fun spot in Lagos to enjoy good food, amazing vibes, and reasonable prices, Grey Matter Social House is definitely worth a visit! Recently, I linked up with fellow foodie, Izunna, who was in town and needed a proper Lagos experience before heading back. As the self-proclaimed Foodie in Lagos, I had to make sure his taste buds were impressed.
Grey Matter Social Space is located at 21C Akin Ogunlewe Street, Victoria Island (VI). It is a charming spot with a welcoming atmosphere. It’s spacious, with rooftop seating perfect for dining with friends, going on casual dates, or just chilling solo with good food. We went on a weekday, and the customer service was friendly with minimal wait time—a big win in Lagos!

What We Tried At Grey Matters Social House
We ordered a variety of dishes from their menu, and here’s the breakdown:
- Spicy Pork Shoulder Bites – ₦11,000
- Bread & Butter – ₦7,000
- GM’s Rice Bowl with Chicken – ₦15,000 (Tasty, but could use a bit more chicken!)
- Smoked Turkey & Dirty Fries – ₦18,500 (⭐ Highly recommended! It’s juicy, flavorful, and perfectly marinated.)
- Milk & Cookies – ₦10,500 (Perfect for a sweet tooth.)
- The Garrison – ₦11,000 (Strong cocktail—Izunna couldn’t handle it, but I loved it.)
- Berry Burlesque – ₦6,000 (Light, refreshing, and perfect for a chill evening.)
Top Picks & Recommendations at Grey Matter Social Space
If you visit Grey Matter Social Space, do not leave without trying the Smoked Turkey & Dirty Fries. It’s tender, flavorful, and feels like it’s been marinated for days. Just thinking about it makes me hungry all over again.
The GM Rice Bowl with Chicken was also nice, though the portion of chicken could be improved. The cocktails are worth trying—especially if you enjoy drinks with a kick.
The vibe here is relaxed and chic. Whether you’re looking to enjoy a rooftop experience with friends or just want to grab a quiet meal, Grey Matter Social House delivers.

Overall, my experience at Grey Matter Social Space was positive, and Izunna enjoyed himself too—despite the strong drink mishap! If you’re in Lagos and love trying new places, this spot deserves a place on your foodie bucket list.
