Foodie in Lagos was invited to a new menu tasting by La Taverna Restaurant which serves a mix of Italian, Spanish and Chilean dishes. La Taverna is also popular with its Pizza in Lagos. I was sure to go with an empty stomach and when you get to the end, you will see why.
Those on snapchat got the full cover on the experience at La Taverna. You can use the Snapcode here to add us on Snapchat or by the username ‘FoodieinLagos’. I had also tweeted about the new menu tasting so follow on Twitter here not to miss out and you can subscribe here for updates on giveaways and more.
Last time I was at La Taverna was with Stephanie of Metrogypsie and you can see our review here and see the Vlog here as well. It was an absolute delight and Chef Christian was very warm to us. For drinks, Chef Christian made a cocktail with Jameson Whisky, Lemon and Ginger and it was lovely. PS. I love anything with ginger
TAPAS
What are Tapas? Tapas are a variety of small savoury Spanish dishes that would typically go with wine and may be what our naija people may call “Small Chops” or “Finger Food” ideally. For the tapas we had the following:
Prawns and Calamari
Patatas Bravas
THE MAINS
After the starters, I was getting quite filled up already. For the mains were the following:
Salmon del Sur
Ham and Chicken Wrap
DESSERT
At this point, I just wanted a bed to sleep in, rub my tummy and have sweet dreams in itis land. But the greed in me had dessert which was the Mango Mousse.

Hi, Please how do you rate the food at la taverna?
Hello, the food at La Taverna is not bad. It depends on your taste as well. You can view the menu here as well to review it before you go and plan appropriately as well. The VRW menu was not a hit for me as I have tried other items that have not made it to the blog unfortunately. Do let me know how it goes. Will love to read from you
