Beezus Kitchen occasionally hosts Korean Barbeque night in one of the beautiful gardens in Ikoyi. They serve the best-marinated meat, great cocktails and mocktails, and some banchan. I attended the Korean barbeque night that happened on New year’s eve. I had done Korean BBQ at Hua Han and vlogged about it here, so it had been a while. Experiencing it at NYE with friends was fun. First, we got welcome notes from the chef; I liked that.
MEAL
Korean BBQ, or gogi-gui (고기구이), is the method of grilling marinated meat at the dining table. Korean BBQ restaurants usually have gas or charcoal grills built right into the tables. The meat is traditionally served raw to customers to grill on their own. However, BBQ meats can also come marinated.
The menu had a beef set and mixed set option; the beef set had three types of beef, while the mixed set had four types of mixed set. I liked the options and enjoyed grilling myself. Everything was delicious; there was a particular sauce I enjoyed a lot with the unlimited rice that was made available.
DRINK
Korean drink Soju was served along with wines and other cocktails and mocktails. I loved it.
OVERALL EXPERIENCE
I enjoyed the dining experience; it was thrilling and super interesting to grill one’s meat and enjoy conversation with others at the table. I would love to do it again.
FOODIE IN LAGOS RATING: 8/10
