I recently discovered another fantastic beans spot in Yaba, and I’m excited to share my experience with you guys. This place goes by the name of Iya Simpa Canteen, and it’s conveniently located down the road from the previous Beans Spot I introduced you to. What’s even more impressive is that Iya Simpa has been serving this tasty beans for over 30 years!

MEAL
I had the pleasure of enjoying a delicious plate of beans at Iya Simpa, and the best part? It cost me ₦1,000! The beans had a perfect texture – not overly soft, but just right. The sauce was nicely prepared, avoiding excessive oiliness. At first glance, it might not appear as appetizing, but trust me, the taste was out of this world, especially when you eat it with soft Agege bread. In fact, I was tempted to return for more the very same evening!

The staff at Iya Simpa were incredibly friendly and wore warm smiles throughout my visit. I had the opportunity to chat with the manager, who informed me that the canteen gets pretty busy around 8pm. If you’re an early bird, they got you covered, as they open as early as 6am. Yaba residents are so lucky to be honest.

OVERALL EXPERIENCE
The meal was great and I love the fact that the staff at Iya Simpa Canteen were friendly. If you’re in the mood for a budget-friendly and tasty food, make your way to this spot and thank me later.
