There’s a myth that only women should cook; this myth is mostly discussed in African culture. We disagree; we think everyone should know how to cook. We are not dragging the baton with pros; we know some people in this group chat, the team I inherited my cooking skills. That’s okay; we can’t even beef you for that.
What should people who don’t know how to cook do? How should they start?
Here are some beginners cooking tips:
Pick a recipe: Cooking could be challenging if you have no idea why you are in the kitchen. Picking a recipe or dish helps you get things done faster because now you have an idea of where to start and what the result should be. Or might be, depending on how this goes.
Get quality ingredients: this isn’t the best time to get an alternative seasoning or canned hotdog, invest in quality ingredients and products. Chances are the richer the ingredients, the better the taste. So don’t risk it by trying to manage resources; go all out.
Stick to measurement: This is not the time to trust your ancestors to come through for you, lol. Don’t do it. You are not skilled enough to use your hand to measure the amount of salt that goes in, so grab your measuring spoon and keep the measuring cups close to you. You would need them.
Watch a comprehensive video: Technology has made life easier, so as you are trying to put together the meal, always follow up with a video, if your stew doesn’t come out as red as the videos. You probably should start to panic. That’s a tease.
Don’t forget the Wash Rule: Cut, Wash, Cook, Wash. This rule isn’t limited to your hands, always wash utensils immediately after use, or you’d get tired after cooking, and the kitchen would be a mess.
