Debas Creamery Summary
Wole Ariyo, Off Admiralty Way, Lekki Phase 1| Instagram| Phone
You know when something is everywhere on Instagram—cute posts, aesthetic scoops and you start to feel like you’re missing out? That was me with Debas Creamery. After dodging temptation for weeks, I finally pulled up to see what the fuss was about.
Let’s just say… not every fine thing has flavour.
Debas is located on 7b Wole Ariyo off Admiralty Way, Lekki Phase 1, and it definitely knows its target audience. The space is clean and minimal, with Ice cream inspired decor that screams “take a cute photo here.” There’s indoor seating and just enough vibe to make it a good stop for a chill solo treat.
But let’s be honest—when it comes to ice cream spots, the décor isn’t the main event. I came ready to be wowed by the flavours. Sadly, what I got was meh
I went in ready to explore. I started a taste test with Carrot Cake and Irish Cream ice cream.
Carrot Cake: Lacked that signature spice and warmth you expect. Flat. Just there.
Irish Cream: Honestly? Tasted like nothing. Maybe a whisper of something creamy, but nothing memorable.
Now, my friend ordered Carrot Cake but paired hers with Coffee and hers was better. Still not mind-blowing, but at least the coffee had personality.
I decided to give it one last shot and placed my order- Salted Caramel and Cookies & Cream. The Salted Caramel was fortunately a win! It had that sweet-salty balance and felt more intentional – a 7/10.
Unfortunately, the scoop of Cookies & Cream I got completely missed the mark. 3/10 at best. It tasted like whipped sugar with no chocolate chunk energy. No crunch. No richness. Just vibes. The forgettable kind and, tasted cheap like cheap ingredients were used.
I also tried two extras:
Cake in a Jar (₦6,000) – Looked great, but it came out frozen solid. Like, I actually had to wait for it to thaw before I could dig in. Even when it softened, it tasted mid. For ₦6k, I wanted soft, indulgent cake. Not a frozen rock in a jar.
Brownie Popsicle (₦2,500) – Visually? 10/10. Taste? Not so much. The chocolate flavour didn’t slap the way it should. It felt more like frozen cocoa than a rich brownie blend.
Debas Creamery is cute enough for a quick stop, especially if you’re nearby. But if you’re expecting an indulgent dessert experience or something you’ll keep craving? This might not be your jam
It’s not terrible, but it’s definitely not the rave-worthy, “OMG you HAVE to try this!” experience I was hoping for.
