Expression Cafe by Bubbletii is one of those spots that’s been popping up on my feed lately, and I had to see what the hype was about. Tucked inside Trinity Towers in Victoria Island, the cafe is from the same folks behind Bubbletii – so yes, bubble tea fans, you’re in luck.
I popped in for a solo visit, and here’s my full breakdown of the space, food, and if I’d go back again.
Expression Cafe has vibes. Think modern, minimal, and aesthetically pleasing. If you work remotely or like a good solo brunch moment, this place will charm you.
There’s a bookstore inside the cafe, which adds such a cozy touch—perfect for reading or zoning out. A few lounge-y seats are scattered around, and there’s outdoor seating too if you want fresh air.
The only downside? Flies. Everywhere. I genuinely wanted to love the space more, but the fly situation was a bit much and definitely took away from the comfort.
I decided to try their BLT sandwich, a parfait, and a frappuccino. Let’s start with the parfait—it genuinely shocked me in the best way. It was creamy, rich, and so well put together. You could tell care went into making it, and it honestly ended up being the highlight of my order.
The BLT, on the other hand, was just okay. Taste-wise, it delivered on the classic combo of bacon, lettuce, and tomato, but for ₦15,500, the portion felt underwhelming. It looked like one slice of bread cut in half, served with fries and a bit of ketchup. The price-to-portion ratio? E no really balance.
As for the frappuccino, it was a nice surprise. It leaned sweet but wasn’t too heavy or creamy. It had a smooth balance that made it really easy to drink. I’d rate it a solid 8/10—definitely something I wouldn’t mind ordering again.
Would I go back to Expression Cafe? Maybe—but only after they sort out the fly drama. The cafe has so much potential: it’s well-designed, peaceful, and perfect for co-working or a solo chill day. The parfait alone is worth a repeat visit, but the sandwich pricing and hygiene situation need a review. Here’s a quick look at the menu if you plan on visiting soon 😉
