What type of Foodie is she?
Hey Foodie, welcome back to the Foodie Tales category on Foodie in Lagos. This is our first foodie personality interview, it is basically a segment where we get to meet food lovers, drill them on their personalities, get to know about their food adventure, and rate their foodie life on a scale of 1-1o with 10 as excellent. Meet our first guest who would get rated at the end of this read. Let’s go, Foodie.
What’s your name?
Iyanuoluwa Olosunde. I like to tell people to call me ‘Mi-Writes’, my pen name as I don’t have a food name.
An introduction to your background?
I am from a monogamous family of 8 and I grew up eating home-cooked meals. I’m a writer, bookpreneur, and a law student. I like to eat, I can’t even hide it.
What’s your personality?
I’m an Ambivert, a fun-loving one. What is this life without fun and food?
On a scale of 1-10, how much of a foodie are you?
I would say 7 because some things are blocking my foodie potential.
What is food to you?
Food is bae 😂, food is something that should not just end your hunger, it should excite your taste buds and create butterflies in your tummy.
What do you find most annoying about being a foodie?
The inability to satisfy my cravings and having to settle for less, chai, e dey pain.
How often do you eat out?
I feel safer eating home-cooked meals, however when I can, I eat at popular food spots where I get receipts, so that (God forbid) if anything happens to me…
Your favorite spots?
My Mother’s pot, Korede Spaghetti, Chicken Republic for food, Grocery Bazaar, and Justrite for snacks.
What’s your best food?
Noodles. It sounds weird, but that is it.
How often do you cook and what food do you make the most?
As often as I can, I make noodles and rice the most.
What’s it like being a student foodie?
Haaaa, skelebe tioleebebe, my school frustrates me because there is either no water or space in the kitchen to cook. There is limited kitchen space and cooking anywhere else is illegal, so it’s tough cooking my meals, then I have my favorite spot around but the food is expensive. Most of the time, I settle for noodles, bread, or something. The foodie in me comes out when there is free food. What food spot do I not know in this world? But where is the money? That’s why I spend time screenshotting food images and saving them until Heaven smiles at me. I even console myself with food videos and pretend I can recreate some.
Fun facts about you?
I can’t eat without reading or watching something, I get bored.
5 meals you’ve had that are not of Nigerian origin?
Sapa no allow me oh. I have come to the conclusion that I am a sapadized foodie that is restricted by Unilag to reach my true calling. I await the day I will reach my true calling as a foodie instead of eating bread and noodles thrice a week.
What is your sign-off word to us?
Call me when there is free food, thank you.
