I visited a new spot called 216 by Catherine Villa for food tasting/opening night. As hinted earlier, 216 by Catherine Villa is a restaurant in Catherine Villa established for private dining. I was present at the opening night and one of the struggles I had was locating the place.
MEAL
For the starter, I had the semolina, wheat and cinnamon bread, plantain crisp with garlic butter and jam. I didn’t enjoy this as the bread was stale. I preferred the bread and garlic butter combo to that of the jam. Now to the highlight, I had Jerk Guinea Fowl Penne Pasta, pineapple and oregano chutney which was extremely delicious. The guinea fowl was bony, but extremely tasty and well spiced. I enjoyed my palm wine mojito cocktail so much that I emptied my glass.
For dessert, I had shortbread, burnt pineapple & kuli kuli cheesecake which I didn’t quite enjoy. Others had it and they seemed to love it though. It was a delightful three course meal.
OVERALL EXPERIENCE
It was a bit hard to locate as there wasn’t any signage or number outside. I think it would be perfect for date nights and private dinners. There are also some other amenities in the villa such as a lounge, swimming pool, bar, etc. The menu was limited as it is a new spot. The customer service was great and the wait time for the food wasn’t long. I’ll definitely be visiting again to try other interesting things I saw on the menu.
