My favorite Designers Rice vendor, Bankolemoh Rice opened a new branch at Lekki, trust me to stop by. For those that aren’t familiar with Bankolemoh Designers Rice, they’ve been around for over 10 years at their branch in Surulere. I used to drive all the way from Lekki to Surulere just to get their rice, so imagine my excitement when I found out they were on the island.

MEAL

They have a pleasant and lovely space. They also have a selfie booth which makes for a nice picture background. They are well known for their designers rice but serve other local dishes. I had White rice with beans, boiled egg, beef, and stew. It tasted as good as I remember. The stew was delicious and mouthwatering. I also thought to try their Amala, I might as well kill two birds with a stone.

I got a portion of Amala with ewedu, gbegiri, beef, and stew. The amala was smooth, and the ewedu and gbegiri was good too. The stew was delicious and well seasoned; it elevated the meal. The beef was adequately seasoned and wasn’t chewy. It was a sumptuous and satisfying meal although it would have tasted better if the amala was hot. I could have requested that it be heated up, but I just thought the taste would be off.

OVERALL EXPERIENCE

It is definitely one of a kind. It was a nostalgic experience, but I fear I’m about to spend all my money on their food.
