Mr Biggs, (Ikoyi, Lagos)

Mr. Biggs Restaurant is a popular food restaurant that had its glory days in the early 2000s. They’re best known for their pastries, so I stopped by to rekindle fond childhood memories. They share this new space with Debonairs Pizza, and it is a pristine space with minimalist décor.
The space is well-lit and the staff were very welcoming.
MEAL
I ordered Jollof rice. It tasted really nice; it was seasoned well with a nice kick of spice. The chicken was tender and spicy. It was a 7/10 for me.
PASTRIES
I tried out a couple of pastries.
The beef roll was good; the dough was light and flaky, and the beef was the right amount of spicy. I give this a 7/10. The meat pie was really nice. The filling was rich and well seasoned. It was also a little spicy. The scotch egg was just okay. The exterior wasn’t crunchy, and it didn’t taste fresh. It was a 6/10. The doughnut was fluffy and sweet. I would have liked some more jam in it, but the sugar coating made up for it. It was a 9/10.
OVERALL EXPERIENCE
Overall experience for me was a 7/10. I would be back for more pastries.
FOODIE IN LAGOS RATING: 7/10
