I recently visited Yardstick at Alagomeji; the lounge is just above the sweet sensation fast food restaurant. To access the lounge, you need to go through the restaurant. The interior was quite nice, there were different seating options available, and I noticed a couple of people working there, so this might be a good work spot.
MEAL
They had two menu options available; one for the lounge and one for the restaurant downstairs. I already tried the restaurant downstairs, so I ordered from the yardstick lounge menu. I ordered the grilled fish with Chapman and a Pina Colada for my friend. It took an hour plus for the fish to be ready. They ran out of power but provided a standing fan with air that wasn’t circulating. After waiting for an hour plus, the fish arrived, and let me tell you how disappointed and dissatisfied I was.
When you wait over an hour for a meal, your expectations skyrocket. There was honestly nothing special about the fish. It was slightly bland even. The yam was well fried but cut a bit too large. The sauce was even more underwhelming; it did nothing to elevate the taste of the grilled fish and yam chips. I’ll rate this a 4/10.
DRINK
The chapman was nice. It tasted like they tweaked the recipe a bit, but it didn’t affect the flavor so much. I’ll rate this a 5/10. One thing was that the ice the drink came with hardly melted because after taking a million pictures, the drink remained intact and didn’t water down.
The Pina Colada had yogurt in it which made it taste very weird. Correct me if I’m wrong, but Pina colada should not have yogurt. I’ll rate this drink a 4/10.
OVERALL EXPERIENCE
They could be more customer conscious. The waiters weren’t so professional. If you’re thinking of stopping by, I’ll advise you to order from the sweet sensation’s menu, so you don’t end up waiting as long as we did.
