Toasties by Biscuitboneblog is a cozy, dim, simple, and budget-friendly breakfast spot in Ikoyi, Lagos. It is an affordable breakfast spot that isn’t an eatery or a small shop with a cloud kitchen. Toasties is a nice spot for vegetarians and meat lovers. It is only at this Restaurant you get to build your own Toasties and salads. The place is super chill and serene.

Meal

I ordered the Breakfast Rush, and I was looking forward to how the portion would be because it cost ₦1,800. It was small but great for that price. You can choose to have it served with your choice of eggs and sausage or bacon. I ordered fried eggs, firm and properly cooked but saltless, I’ve always loved a bit of salt in my food. The bacon was shredded and surprisingly not too salty, but the sausage was hard. The breakfast rush came with four triangle-shaped wheat bread as the toast. This order was a 7/10 for me.

For Toasties, the menu had many exciting sandwiches (toasties) and I settled for the Prawn Pesto Toasties which cost ₦4,800.  It was soft and every bite melted in my mouth with the sweet taste of the caramelized onions and mayo. It was perfectly toasted and crunchy on the sides, but I wouldn’t tick it as my favorite. I will give it a 6/10.

The Caesar salad consisted of parmesan cheese, croutons, lettuce, caesar dressing, and steak instead of chicken as it was not available at that moment. You have the choice to remove or keep the onions and tomatoes in the salad – I took the onions out. The steak was the right kind of spicy, overall, the salad was crunchy, fresh and at the right temperature for a salad. The portion was generous for a full meal which cost ₦3,500. I will definitely give it an 8/10.

The old-fashioned lemonade took me aback when it arrived. I was expecting a Toasties signature lemonade since the order read old-fashioned, but I got a processed bottled drink from Wilson.

The overall experience at Toasties is an 8/10 from me. The wait time was decent, my food came in 10 minutes and the waiters were very patient as they took me through the order. I also love how quiet it was. Total spent was ₦10,600 with VAT
