Amazonia Restaurant Abuja is a rainforest-themed restaurant located in the Art-Tech District. The dining experience here is really interesting, they even have a gorilla walk around the restaurant while you dine to give you that forest experience and I find that pretty cool. It’s also a child-friendly restaurant.
The interior of Amazonia is cozy and nice, the seating space is wide enough to not have clusters. I also love the placement of the greenery in the restaurant. There’s an inner seating space that could also double as a lounge area as you can see in the pictures. That area also has some parrots in cages which adds to that rainforest idea they were going for I guess. Not bad 👍 I’d give the ambiance a 7/10.
I ordered the Short Ribs which cost ₦9,900, with a side of Thai Dragon Fried Rice which cost ₦4,000. The Short ribs were okay but could have been better, the meat was tender enough but just not juicy enough in my opinion. The Thai Dragon rice however was so delicious and spicy🌶 , which really elevated the taste of the ribs. Altogether I’ll give this meal a 7/10👌.
The Tropical Rainforest which cost ₦4,000, had gin, fresh pineapple, simple syrup and green forest leaves in it. This was really tasty at first and not very strong so if you like your drink strong, you might want to inform the waiter serving you to make it a bit stronger. I enjoyed this drink, however, the leaves settle at the bottom of the drink causing it to have a bitter taste if you don’t stir as you drink so keep that in mind. I give this a 7/10.
I give the overall experience here a 7/10, the food was okay and the wait time wasn’t long at all. In fact, I was surprised by how soon the food came, no longer than 30 minutes, and I found that impressive. The waiter that attended to me was a bit grumpy though but all the others were nice so maybe he was having a bad day lol. Total spend here was ₦20,925.
Have you visited Amazonia? How was your experience? And if you haven’t, don’t forget to share it with us when you visit!
TL:DR – Overall experience here was refreshing, I’d give it an 7/10. The food was really good and I totally recommend the Thai Dragon rice when you eventually visit. FoodieinLagos will definitely be visiting again.
For folks in Lagos, the prices at Amazonia Restaurant Abuja are way cheaper than that in Lagos – I wonder why?
