The Corniche Bistro (Lekki Phase 1) 2, Olaitan Sebanjo Street, Lekki | 09034700000 | Instagram What if I told you it’s possible to dine in Lagos with a ₦20,000 budget for two? Yes, you read that right! We decided to prove it by example and visited two restaurants – one on the island and one on the mainland. We visited The Corniche Bistro within The Corniche Hotel at Lekki Phase 1. Google Maps was accurate with the direction, but there’s no sign outside the hotel, so I almost missed it. I had to inquire from the security guard, who then […]

Shores Dining Restaurant And Lounge (Victoria Island) 1 Oluniyi Olumide Crescent | 08107486818 | Instagram Update: This is now Goza Lagos Hey Foodies! How’s the new year coming along? Ours is off to a ‘food’ start at Shores Dining! 😁 We visited Shores Dining Restaurant and Lounge for dinner. Shores Dining is located on Oluniyi Olumide Crescent, Victoria Island. One has to be watchful because it’s easy to miss. There are three dining spaces within the restaurant; two dining spaces downstairs; one of which is for general dining, while the other is strictly for private dining. There’s also a smoking […]

Vendome Restaurant & Lounge (Victoria Island, Lagos) 5 Adetokunbo Ademola Street, VI⎮ Phone ⎮Instagram Happy new year 2022! We made it! My siblings and I had lunch at Vendome Restaurant & Lounge in Victoria Island Lagos. This space opened up recently in time for the Detty December crew. When they first opened, they were only opening from 6pm/7pm which never worked for me. Not sure why these restaurants are adopting this approach when they open newly. I remember sLow doing the and now that has changed. The restaurant is quite easy to find as its directly on the road and not […]

Rye Restaurant (Victoria Island) Kofo Abayomi Street, Victoria Island |+234014482777| Instagram The Foodie In Lagos team decided to head out for some good food and vibes after a whole year of creating mouthwatering content for you all. We love it though, so no complaints. Rye Restaurant is located on Kofo Abayomi Street in Victoria Island, inside Nordic Hotel Lagos. It’s basically an “if you know, you know” spot. There’s no sign outside the space of the hotel, so it’s easy to miss. K missed it because she wasn’t sure if that was the hotel and had to ask a security […]

HSE Gourmet (Lekki 1, Lagos) 25 Babatope Bejide Cres, Lekki Phase 1 ⎮0810 745 3157 ⎮Instagram HSE Gourmet recently reopened its doors after its renovations and wow, it’s so well done and so beautiful! I’ve loved HSE for a long time and since we posted this on the blog. I have also been there quite a number of times but had no energy to write a post. Therefore, this update is long overdue. What I had: Mixed Berry Fruit Iced Tea: ₦2,700 Seabass which cost ₦14,000; Wild Mushrooms & Truffle Pasta for ₦9,000. Drink: Mixed Berry Fruit Iced Tea. The heat […]

Ox Restaurant And Bar (Victoria Island, Lagos) 31 Kofo Abayomi Street | 09044444454 | Instagram Ox is a restaurant and bar located in Victoria Island. The décor is pretty, kind of Nordic. They have both outdoor and indoor spaces which makes sense since it’s a lounge. When you walk, in, there’s a lobby with murals, a hallway that leads to the outdoor space, and the door to the indoor space is on the right. There are beautiful murals on the wall, however, the decor seems mismatched, they couldn’t seem to be able to decide between Nordic or Pan-African. I really liked […]

Medusa Lounge (Lekki, Lagos) 3 Ogbunike Street, Off Admiralty Way, Lekki Phase 1 | 0818 777 7761 | Instagram Medusa is a lounge with a restaurant as an add-on. It is not hard to find, especially if you use your map; it will take you directly to the building. It’s located in a residential area, which is a good thing in my opinion because dining in a noisy environment can be unpleasant. I arrived not long after they opened up on Saturday, which was deliberate because I wanted to take some great pictures and dine in silence. The security guard was […]

Chophaus (GRA, Ikeja) 46B Isaac John Street, GRA, Ikeja | Number | Instagram Chophaus is a small kiosk-like restaurant that serves street food with a little twist. You’ll find this in their Instagram bio. I think their logo is particularly interesting. I visited Chophaus with T, but I arrived before she did. It was a somewhat rainy day on the mainland and also was NOT EASY to find. I was already mumbling to myself in the car that the food had better be worth it, if not, they’re gonna see crazy. After finally finding it, I realized I had passed it […]

Softs (GRA, Ikeja) 46b Isaac John St, Ikeja GRA⎪Instagram Softs is located in Ikeja GRA and is the latest addition to our ice cream spots in Lagos. It’s a pretty small but cute spot that shares a space with CHOPHAUS. Their decor is pink and dreamy, with cones filled with cotton clouds, rainbows on the walls and a sign that says, “Lick me, I’m soft.” The space is so small, there’s barely anywhere to sit. There’s a table, two chairs, and a single bench. This is a problem because both spaces were occupied, and there was nowhere for us […]

When we’re not trolling each other on Twitter about whose jollof rice is better, we’re teasing our Ghanaian neighbours about their insane love of (boiled) eggs and their interesting dishes. Ghanaian food is just as interesting and colourful as the people of Ghana are. With main crops such as cassava, corn, rice, millet, plantains etc, most of their tribes make use of these staples and other ingredients to create their distinct meals. Their food etymology is actually quite similar to ours, with the main dishes often consist of starchy mains, accompanied with stews and sauces made with peppers, tomatoes and […]

Seabass Seafood Restaurant (Victoria Island, Lagos) 17 Oju Olobun Street, Victoria Island, Lagos | 0708 007 0262 | Instagram Here I was on Instagram and a sponsored ad for Seabass Seafood Restaurant popped up. Seabass restaurant is the latest new restaurant under the blowfish group – same owners of Woks, La Veranda, Izanagi etc. I mean, their mantra is to bring the world in one place and they seem to be doing just that. Visited their Seabass sea food restaurant on a Saturday evening and it was not busy. Infact, I was the only guest there and it was very uncomfortable having a bunch […]

Pit Stop Lagos 92A Younis Bashorun Street, Victoria Island| 08077498324 | Instagram We went on another restaurant adventure; Pit Stop Lagos. You’re going to love this one! Pit Stop Lagos is a wellness, fitness, and cycling inspired cafe. It’s situated in a quiet area in Victoria Island and is easy to find, but can be easily missed too. Pit Stop Lagos is conscious of the COVID-19 safety measures to an extent. A security guard at the gate ushered me in with a hand sanitiser he sprayed in my hands. He wasn’t particular about nose masks because some people came in […]
